Hi, I'm Marie Kraft, -- Welcome to the TofuXpress!  The TofuXpress makes preparation of tofu for cooking easier and safer. It also offers a way to enhance the taste of an increasingly popular food among the health conscious population.

I first began to include tofu in my diet a number of years ago, and tried many ways to improve its flavor and texture. One way to improve the flavor and texture of tofu is to press out the water. After the water is removed, flavoring can then be added.

“Put it in between two plates, and put a weight on top” is what most cookbooks provide as guidance to press tofu. From other methods involving wasting tons of paper towels, to building a cumbersome tower of plates and weights, I was not happy with the results and wanted to find a better method. So I turned to my dad (pictured below) to help me design a kitchen tool that would be more effective. I now present to you the TofuXpress!

The TofuXpress is designed to be the healthy cook's kitchen tool!  It presses water effectively from a standard size brick of commercially made tofu so you can change its texture and add flavoring.  
Tofu is a great source of vegetarian protein.   By using tofu as a substitute for meat protein we can conserve the amount of natural resources needed to produce our protein sources.  It is estimated that every family that replaces 1 pound of meat for 1 pound of tofu will conserve 20,000 gallons of water per year.

The TofuXpress also converts into a marinating dish to add flavor, yet not more dishes to wash! The possibilities for creating your own delicious tofu recipes are endless!

The TofuXpress is also used to press vegetables and other foods, such as sliced eggplant, thawed, chopped spinach, fresh tomatoes, chopped onions, peppers, and is also great in making cheese and Greek Yogurt.
